So you're interested in getting your child involved in competitive springboard diving. Maybe you have noticed your son or daughter flipping off a diving board at the neighborhood pool, or they have shown interest after seeing a local springboard diving competition.
By following a few simple guidelines, you can be up the ladder and off the diving board in the time it takes to pull out your judging scorecard.
Dive San Diego offers competitive team and dive lessons programs, taught by highly skilled competitive divers. Our philosophy is to help children of all ages learn diving and life skills by developing self confidence, character, and joy with the care and guidance from our coaches and staff in a relaxed and fun environment.
Marnie Young-Cashmore | Head Coach
Marnie dived in the NCAA at CSULB, She turned professional and dived with the Great American High Diving Team where she performed in high diving shows all over the world. She is a 16 time National and 1 time world masters diving champion. She was the 1988 Hawaiian mixed pairs cliff diving champion and has dived from heights 60, 70 and 80 feet.
She has been a diver and coached with Dive San Diego for the past 15 years. Marnie has been involved in promoting diving around Southern California where she performs comedy diving for local clubs and fund raisers. In addition to her diving career Marnie holds a masters degree and 2 teaching credentials in Physical & Special Education. She is a teacher in a local school district and is an Instructor at SDSU.
Marnie has been coaching and competing in diving for over 25 years. She dived in the NCAA at CSULB under the direction of Coach Debby Mc McCormick , She was a McCormick divers for 10 years. After college , Marnie turned professional and dived with the Great American High Diving Team where she performed in high diving shows all over the world.

Marnie holds a masters degree and 2 teaching credentials in Physical & Special Education.Marnie is a State and National Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the year. She has been a leader in her field in California for over 20 years. She Currently teaches in Oceanside Unified School District and runs Dive San Diego.

Amy Alexander | Assistant Diving Coach
Amy dived 4 years in high school and was a member of Dive San Diego throughout her high school diving career. She has an extensive background in gymnastics and diving. Amy has a B. A. from San Diego State University and currently coaches West View High School in Poway. Amy has coached on and off with Dive San Diego for 5 years. She is also a master diver and enjoys her diving career.
Cameron Rawlins | Dry Land & Conditioning Coach
Cameron is currently a student at Mira Costa and National University working on his teaching credential in special education. Cameron is an instructional aide for a local school district and works closely with the adapted physical education staff in teaching and developing individualized motor development programs for persons with special needs ages 3-22. Cameron finds ways to make conditioning and fitness fun for everyone. Cameron is a great motivator.
Pat Flood | Assistant Diving Coach
Pat has over 23 years experience as a world class athlete and personal fitness trainer. Pat utilizes his education, extensive comprehensive personal training experiences, professional athletic achievements, along with his passion for diving and brings it to each and every diver. Pat has a B. S. in Health Science, special emphasis in exercise physiology and sports medicine. He was the strength coach to the San Diego Chargers, he was a personal trainer and sports director for the Center for Sports Medicine, San Diego, C. A.,was the athletic director and personal trainer for the Sporting Club of America, Pat has coached with many colleges and high school diving programs around San Diego. Pat is an 8 time world master diving champion and also olds 13 master national championship titles. Pat Currently own his own fitness studio, and is one of Dive San Diego's coaches.
